looks can be deceiving.... i read an article summary yesterday, saying that after the discovery of the "Red Delicious" apple, farmers kept selecting fruits that looked the best, that had the most even dark red color, but these apples lost some of the flavor profile that was found in apples with some aberrant golden patches and striping. eventually, after 100+ years of selecting for fruit-stand presentation, they created a mealy, bland apple. a customer returned a package of dog treats at my work a few days back and she said, "i don't know why my dogs won't eat them, they look just like the other kind i get." your eyes aren't your only sense organs, people. ( that means you, too, lerk! )
