According to Medical News Today, a phobia is a type of anxiety disorder that causes an individual to experience extreme, irrational fear about a situation, living creature, place, or object.
Recently, I have discovered something. At first, I thought that the weird discomfort feeling I perceive when I see someone touching their wrist or other parts of their body with a vein that can produce a pulse is completely normal. As time goes by, imagining and watching such things also gives me some sort of fear. When I am or someone is touching my wrist, I feel sick and nauseous. I realized that there's something wrong so, I decided to look at the internet for some hints to know what's really going on. I found out that I have a phobia called Venophobia. It's a phobia of veins. I've researched this but there is a limited article about it. If you want to learn more and what I feel when experiencing it, click here.
I'm not taking it seriously tho. Actually, it doesn't affect my everyday routines. I am just amazed that I have this unusual phobia, lol. Also, I want to share it because I think some of you didn't know that this kind of phobia exists.
But if you have a phobia and you think it greatly affects you in any matter, seek medical attention immediately.
