A while ago, my supervisors were interacting with my friend about their thoughts on whether she wanted to work with the company. I think they prefer her work ethic and how she managed to get busy all the time. Well, if they ask me about it, I don't have plans. They may not interrogate me since they are aware of my academic standing. Plus, they also know that my plan after I graduate is to work from home. Yet, my main suspicion is that I don't work outside of my job. For example, I don't serve my supervisors with coffee or buy them food. I am also not a people pleaser like their previous interns. It's not easy for me to blend with the environment, but they know that I'm trying. I did my job, even though it is too repetitive. I am that guy who looks for something bigger in my career and has learned to be independent. I even heard that one of my supervisors wanted to become a virtual assistant. However, I don't want to burst their bubble or share my experiences. Good thing that they didn't ask me about my previous experiences and salary. If that's the case, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't retain me. If I have the luxury to stay in Manila for my internship, I would get it. In fact, a big workforce agency offered me a job that would cultivate my current skills. I love the job, but I also consider if it's worth it. When I asked my mom about companies' offers around Las Pinas, Manila, Makati, and Pasig, she was against it. She said that it's too far, and no one will assist me. Still, I learned and "will still learn" at the company where I'm working. It might not be technical skills, but I am looking forward to enhancing and adding more soft skills. That's my two cents this evening.
