Corruption here in the Philippines is super obvious. But since I'm restricted on who I can vote for in every election due to our faith, I chose to be apolitical instead. I have this senatorial candidate that I don't know why we decided to unite in my mind. Imagine spending billions of pesos to promote herself in the election because her selling proposition is to help people experiencing poverty. If you come to think of it, she can spend that huge amount without using political gains if her passion is really to help. On top of that, the salary of a senator is only ₱334,059. If you multiply it by 72, that's only ₱2.4 million. Please note that she doesn't only spend a billion because that's only for TV ads alone. It has not yet included the cost of tarpaulins, collaboration with influencers, social media ads, and her giveaways. They even spent money to build a concert as part of her gimmick. Others said that the overall marketing cost she paid to secure her win is ₱4 billion, and I don't doubt it. It's also noticeable that her family members use the same tactic. Bottom line, a lot of Filipinos are still poor. That's why elections don't bother me too much. *I believe in our faith, but I don't believe in some of the politicians we unite with.*
