Sci-fi character sketch. This one started with a spiral flow starting behind the eye and ending with the pointed chin. I like putting rough shapes down first before deciding what it will look like as it allows me to work quicker. Done with pastel chalk, graphite and charcoal pencils. A5 size.

Insectoid character. The idea for this started with the mandibles as I thought it would look cool. I wanted an insect like creature and once I got the basic shape right the rest was formed around it. Done with pastel chalk, graphite and charcoal pencils. A5 size.

Bio armour concept. This came from an idea I had about a biological suit that could evolve to a specific need such as different atmospheres or to protect the user from different weapons. Done with pastel chalk, graphite and charcoal pencils. A5 size.

Horror sketch. I wanted a creepy look for this character and started it of with the scars on the side of his face. I dont watch alot of horror movies but I prefer ones that have a human character that turned evil due to circumstances beyond his control, like revenge type movies. Bio-organic design. This started off with a skull shape then I decided to do a bio style abstract sketch. I roughly put down shapes that flowed the way I wanted them to with pastel chalk and cotton ball before using pencils to put in the finer details. A5 size.

Alien skull sketch. I had an idea for the shape of this one, I wanted something spikey and old skool tribal looking but 3D and an alien skull fit those catagorys quite well. Done with pastel chalk, graphite and charcoal pencils. A5 size.

Science fiction character. Roughly based on a spiral formation to start this sketch then once I was happy with the overall shape of the head I started on the features that fit in with the flow of the drawing. Done with pastel chalk, graphite and charcoal pencils. A5 size.

Fantasy type character. I started this with the idea of drawing a young orc type fantasy character or hybrid of orc and something equaly evil, I took a bit longer to sketch this one because I put more texture in it. Done with pastel chalk, graphite and charcoal pencils. A5 size.

Robot sketch. Mecha style character quick sketch done in around an hour. I went for an alien look for this one and tryed to make it look a bit evil then adjusted the contrast for a darker feel. Done with pastel chalk, graphite and charcoal pencils. A5 size.
