I recently read an article, in passing, by an artist who spent quite a lot of time essentially whining about new technology in the arts. Not long ago I wrote about how many fear and demonize anything that goes against tradition. His fear is that new technology will make traditional artists obsolete. While I can UNDERSTAND his notion to a point, I think it's unfounded. Just as trad artists were safe even after the advent of digital tools in general, like classic Photoshop, I think the same remains true even as digital tools advance. Anyway, I'm not here to add to the war some have started over the issue, I'm just expressing a thought. Even the artist who complained about the new tech in the article I read confessed himself that new tech was a great TOOL, I don't view it as anything more than that.
