Sharon Cuneta on Monday went on Instagram Live for a tell-all, after her daughter Frankie received a rape threat online.
In the video, Sharon said any mother would react the same way after a certain "Sonny Alcos," who has been identified as a supporter of the President, threatened to rape Frankie.
The Megastar couldn't help but turn political, saying "it was a sorry excuse to criticize my husband by using our daughter."
She admitted that it pained to hear Duterte publicly attacking her husband Senator Kiko in his speeches. But "they are both politicians [and] those are their issues," she said.
Sharon reminded her followers that despite her husband being a senator and her father being the late former Pasay Mayor Pablo Cuneta, she's always remained apolitical.
She shared how Duterte treats her like a daughter and considers her "the singer of my life," how Inday Sara has long been a Sharonian, and how the President even convinced her brother Chet to run for the Mayorship of Pasay last year.
It's put her in a very difficult situation, Sharaon said. "Ipit na ipit ako. I think for the peace of my family — Tutal tinitira din naman ako ng supporters ni Tatay kahit kaibigan ko siya. Didistansya na lang ako."
Sharon's always separated politics with friendship, the Megastar said, adding she didn't campaign for any presidentiable in 2016 — despite looking up to Miriam Defensor-Santiago, despite Jejomar Binay having officiated her wedding with Pangilinan, despite Mar Roxas being in the same party as her husband, despite her friendship with Duterte.
The only person she campaigned and supported in the 2016 Elections, Sharon said, was Leni Robredo.
"I hope VP Leni runs for President next time, dahil hindi na rin naman makakatakbo si Tatay next time," she said.
"Pagkatapos ng term ni Pangulong Duterte, sana talaga manalo si VP Leni kung tumakbo siya," she added.
"Baka sakaling bumalik ang pagka disente ng karamihan sa atin."
Sharon noted that she has known VP Leni even before she ran as a vice president and she knows that she is one of the decent ones.
"Nakakatakot na kasi... Ngayon lang ako naka-experience ng ganito," she continued.
