Former Manchester United and England captain, Wayne Rooney has been named interim coach at Derby after the sacking of Dutch man, Philip Cocu after a very poor start to the season that has seen the Rams pick up just six points from a possible thirty three and sit at the bottom of the table.
Rooney who has been a player coach with the team since his arrival in January has scored seven goals for the side but would now occupy a more demanding position, especially looking at the position the team find themselves at the moment.
Current Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard was coach at Derby County and led them to the play off and Rooney would be hoping to eclipse that feat should he be given the job on a permanent basis.
