You might have chosen a song to sing in the videoke, but the song you picked is a different song. Or you might have requested a song in the radio but forgot to mention which artist. The disc jockey then played a different song. The reason may be the title of the song is the same with another song!

Being a music fan, I had listened to a bunch of songs with the same titles so whenever I request a song or type a song to search, I include the artist to avoid confusion. In this post, I challenged myself to name 10 songs with the same titles, and everyone can take part in this challenge too. Of course, cover songs are not included in this challenge.

1. As Long As You Love Me

Backstreet Boys has released a love song called "As Long As You Love Me" way back in 1997. That song became a big hit either in radio and in several countries. Being from the era of MTV, the music video of the song gained a lot of airplays along with "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" as the gap of the release of the two songs are very short.

Fifteen years later, Backstreet Boys is not anymore alone with that song title. Justin Bieber released his R&B and dubstep inspired song "As Long As You Love Me". The single became a US Billboard number 6 hit.

2. Gone

NSYNC released a ballad after "Pop" from their final album "Celebrity". It's a heartbreak song, and came out with a black and white music video. "Gone" became a number 11 hit in Billboard Hot 100, and its music video received multiple nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2002.

After 19 years, country singer Dierks Bentley released a single also called "Gone", which was a number 26 hit in Billboard Hot 100. Aside from NSYNC and Bentley, there are other artists with the song title "Gone" too.

3. Without Me

Eminem continues with controversial songs including the lead single of his album "The Eminem Show". "Without Me" followed the same formula as "The Real Slim Shady" with its tune and comedic music video. It was a number 1 worldwide hit while it peaked at number 2 in the US.

Then in 2018, Halsey released her heartbreak song "Without Me". The single became her first Billboard number 1 hit as the lead artist. The song sampled the heartbreak song of Justin Timberlake, "Cry Me a River".

4. See You Again

Still at the peak at her "Hannah Montana" fame, Miley Cyrus released the song "See You Again", which became her first Billboard top 10 hit.

A bigger "See You Again" song was released in 2015. This was performed by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth, which served as the theme of "Furios 7" and a tribute for the late Paul Walker. This song gave me goosebumps the first time I heard it. As expected, the song was global chart-topper.

5. Just the Way You Are

I've been familiar to this song because we have a copy of Billy Joel's album. "Just the Way You Are" is the standout from that compilation album. This single from Joel was a number 3 Billboard hit.

Thirty years later, there has been a confusion with the song title as Bruno Mars released his own song with that title. His song became his first number 1 hit as a solo artist, and considered as one of the biggest hits of 2010s.

6. Goodbye

Songs with "Goodbye" in the title is very common. But with that sole word as the title, not so much songs from mainstream artists has released such. In 1998 during the height of Geri Halliwell leaving the Spice Girls, the group released "Goodbye" which became their 8th UK number 1 hit.

Before Spice Girls, Air Supply released a song "Goodbye", which was a big hit here in the Philippines. The song was covered by Swedish singer Jessica.

7. When You're Gone

Many had swept during the death of Dolores O'Riordan, the lead singer of The Cranberries, and this song was played. It was one of the sad songs the band has released in 1996, and went to number 22 in Billboard Hot 100.

In 1998, Bryan Adams invited Melanie C of the Spice Girls with this same song title. It went on to become a UK number 3 hit.

About 9 years later, Avril Lavigne released her own "When You're Gone" song which was a hit back then. I had some sad memories with the song as I always hear the song at the ICU of the hospital while taking care of my mom. That same week, she passed away. Since the song was at its peak that time, I often cry whenever it was played on the radio.

8. Perfect

Canadian punk rock band Simple Plan came out with the song "Perfect", which is one of my favorites back in 2003. The song was a top 30 hit in Billboard Hot 100.

One Direction also released the single "Perfect" in 2015, which has been from the group's final studio album "Made in the A.M.". To be honest, it sounds like a rip-off of Taylor Swift's song "Style". That song from Swift coincidentally written by her about Harry Styles. It was a Billboard top 10 hit.

In 2017, Ed Sheeran released "Perfect" from his blockbuster album "÷". The song gave him a global number 1 hit, and was one of the most romantic songs recently.

9. Most Girls

Back when Pink is still singing R&B, she released "Most Girls" as her second single from her first album in 2000. It became a top 10 hit including in the US, and UK.

Fast forward to 2017, Hailee Steinfeld also released one of her earlier singles "Most Girls". That track was a Billboard Hot 100 hit, but peaked outside the upper half of the chart.

10. Speechless

For her EP "The Fame Monster" released in 2009, Lady Gaga has the song "Speechless". It wasn't released as a single but it managed to chart at the Billboard Hot 100.

Naomi Scott also had the song with the same title from "Aladdin" soundtrack. It could've been a hit if the soundtrack was given a better promotion.

Country duo Dan+Shay scored a country number 1 hit "Speechless" which is a good wedding song as well as "10,000 Hours" with Justin Bieber.
