To me this is not good for Ethereum. Miners risked their capital to secure the Ethereum blockchain. Its not their fault the design creates excessive fees. Now they are being stabbed in the back by the developers and left with millions of dollars of investment that is basically worthless. In short you cannot trust the developers on Ethereum therefor you cannot trust Ethereum at all.
