On the birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the year of Mujib, the prisoners made a portrait of Bangabandhu with their blankets on Wednesday. The inmates of Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj took this initiative to show respect to Bangabandhu.
100 inmates made a portrait of Bangabandhu with 714 blankets in the central jail ground. After two days of hard work, they made a 220-foot-long and 35,200-square-foot portrait of Bangabandhu. This is the first time such an initiative has been taken in the history of the prison.
Earlier in the year of Mujib, the face of the father of the nation was painted on a huge 'canvas' of 100 bighas of land in Sherpur, Bogra, which has got a place in the Guinness World Records. On Tuesday, the Guinness World Records authorities confirmed to the National Assembly that Bangabandhu was included in the record book of 'Grain Picture'.
In this initiative, an aesthetic portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was painted on a huge 'canvas' of a 100 bigha paddy field in Sherpur Upazila. It has been named 'Bangabandhu in the Grain Picture'.
On the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth centenary, Bangabandhu National Council took the initiative to write his name in the Guinness World Records by highlighting 'Bangabandhu in the grain picture'.
