Selfishness is necessary.

The word “selfishness” has a negative meaning attached in our minds but in this article, I just want to share a different perspective regarding this word. Why did I say that selfishness is necessary? In this world full of selfish people, it is hard to trust that you need selfishness in your life. In fact, it would be better if selfishness is eradicated for good, right?             However, there are also people who take advantage of the selflessness of an individual. There are some who trample on selfless people simply because they can. And these selfless people continue being their selfless selves put other people first before them. What’s my point?             My point is there will come a time wherein we have to be selfish. If the situation will not allow you to improve yourself, then be selfish enough to put yourself first. Your well-being is important, too. Do not put yourself in an unfair situation wherein you carry others up but you constantly pull yourself down. Get yourself out of that situation. Find a way where both of parties lead towards gratification.             For me, there is nothing wrong in being selfish. There is nothing wrong in being a little selfish to take good care of your mental, emotional and physical health. There is nothing wrong if you put yourself first, sometimes.
