On June 22, 2012, Bank Negara Malaysia issued three types of commemorative coins in conjunction with the Installation of His Majesty the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong XIV Al-Mu'tazam Shah Ibn al-Marhum Sultan Badlishah.
The commemorative coins are issued in the form; 1 Ringgit nordic gold, 10 Ringgit Silver (proof) & 100 Ringgit Gold (proof). All of these coins are legal tender in Malaysia. It was presented to His Majesty at the National Palace on the day of launch.
The front of the coin displays the portraiture of His Majesty the King of Allah Almu'tasimu Billahi Muhibbuddin Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Badlishah, who was elected as The Agong XIV, center of the coin. The full name His Majesty is listed on the circumference of the coin.
The main design of the back of the coin displays the image of the new National Palace and the royal symbol. The words of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong XIV are displayed on the top of the coin, while the name of Bank Negara Malaysia, the issuing authority of this commemorative coin, and the face value of the coin is displayed on the bottom.
The commemorative coins are minted and packed by Bank Negara Malaysia and sold on June 22, 2012, at Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery (MAG) at Sasana Kijang, Kuala Lumpur and regional offices in Penang and Johor Bahru and branches in Kuala Terengganu, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuching.
