Yesterday when I am buying some items at the Alpha Angle Mall, I notice the Aeon bakery has moon cake for sales due to Mid-Autumn Festival coming soon.

For those who don't know what a mooncake is, it is a Chinese bakery product traditionally eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival. The festival is about lunar appreciation and moon watching, and mooncakes are regarded as an indispensable delicacy. Mooncakes are offered between friends or at family gatherings while celebrating the festival.

Typical mooncakes are round pastries, with a rich thick filling usually made from red bean paste or lotus seed paste is surrounded by a thin crust and may contain yolks from salted duck eggs. Mooncakes are usually eaten in small wedges accompanied by tea.

After looking at the mooncake for some time, I buy the red bean mooncake which cost me RM9.80.

Here are pictures of me having this red bean mooncake with coffee for my breakfast.
