Today I don't feel like eating much since I have a late lunch, so I visit the Din Tai Fung in KLCC Suria Mall. Din Tai Fung is a Chinese restaurant from Taiwan that specializes in Chinese Huaiyang cuisine, they are known internationally for their paper-thin wrapped xiaolongbao with 18 folds.

This time I order 6 pieces of their chicken Xiao Long Bao, the total cost is RM18 after including the service tax.

For those who don't know what Xiao Long bao is, it is a type of Chinese steamed bun from Jiangsu province, especially associated with Wuxi and Shanghai. In Shanghainese, they are called siaulon moedeu or xiaolong-style mantous as Wu Chinese-speaking peoples use the traditional definition of "mantou". It is traditionally prepared in xiaolong, which is a kind of small bamboo steaming basket, which gives them their name.

The proper way to enjoy the chicken Xiao Long Bao is first to bite off the top part. Then you drink the sweet broth. After that, you put some ginger and vinegar in it and eat it.
