I must admit that hedonism is one of my weaknesses in this lifetime. Just like some people, all we care about is having fun and spending money on something that we didn't need, those are examples of hedonism.

Hedonism Philosophy

Hedonism philosophy itself started when Socrates asked what exactly humans definite and final purpose in their life was? Two philosophers answer his question, Aristippus and  Epicurus. Aristippus just said that people's ultimate purpose in life is for fun and happiness. If they can't achieve it, they will look elsewhere.

Meanwhile, the hedonism definition is the pursuit of pleasure, while the hedonism philosophy is an ethical theory that pleasure is the highest good and proper aim of human life. There is nothing wrong with the pursuit of pleasure, but we have to remember that life is not always full of pleasure or happy feelings, we ought to accept those pain or negativity during our life here on earth.

Sometimes, those negative feelings taught you more about life, besides just having fun and seeking pleasure. Through bad times, we learn to be more aware and evolve either in the way of our thinking or in behavior.

Why do people become hedonists? Well. There are two main reasons people become hedonists. First is because naturally, humans possess this feeling of never being satisfied, either with what we have or what we don't have. We will always want more and more in this life, although this can be a good thing that motivates us to seek a better life, it also can bring damage to our life.

Examples Of Hedonism

After we learn about the hedonism definition, the next step is to understand some examples of hedonism. The trend that you can find in young people is they are always looking for pleasure, some find it in watching movies, shopping, hanging out with their loved ones, and the list continues. It's considered normal until you can't stop those urges and desires to shop, watch movies, or hang out with friends and family.

The result can be fatal in our lives, either we will be broke and dependent on others. Our lives are consumed by the desire to seek pleasure and things that make us happy.

How To Handle Hedonism

Several tips can help you handle your hedonistic life, but first, you will have to want to change it. Because if you didn't think there was a problem, then nothing can help you. You can only help those who want to change because people won't hear our advice if they don't think there is something wrong with their life.

After you realize that you have to handle hedonism behavior, then try to find what makes you want to buy all of those things? Is it only because they look lovely and wearable? Why do you need to buy things to make you happy? Sometimes these questions have different answers from different people.

Well, if you are tempted to go back to your hedonist life, think about the consequences it will bring to your life. Not just in the present life, but also in the long term. So if you asked how to handle hedonism, realizing that you need help is the first ultimate basic. After that, you can create your questions like the above and find the answer, and hopefully, it will help you not to waste your money

and life on unnecessary things. Good luck finding them!

Another interesting article from you! I've always been interested in philosophy and hopefully I can read more articles that are related to philosophy in one way or another. It is indeed a human nature to always seek pleasure in whatever we do, some do it at yhe expense of other people's right and happiness. So it really is good to keep in mind what comes along with the pleasure that we experience.
