Popular collections are usually cloned altered and published again in other networks, not by the original creators but other developers. Unique collections matter more in my opinion. In smartBCH, the top unique collections are Reapers, Joybots, Thrones, Spice, one called Lucky Tigers, and more. Maybe also Shorai is unique, but I will have to research more. It is a similar concept to Azuki, but not identical, as far as I researched it in the past. You can find punks and apes in many networks by different developers. Considering copyright, I'm not entirely sure how it works with NFTs. There hasn't been a case in court as far as I know, so it is a grey zone, often exploited in this approach.
