In my country, many people love to sit on the sidewalks in front of their homes in the afternoons and watch passersby, just so they can find something to criticize about them. I've never been able to understand why anyone would do that for so many years of their life.

Hahaha, I bet we're neighbors. I just can't understand how people have absolutely nothing else to do at home. Day after day, it's the same routine.
I live in a village now. It's normal here, and in neighboring Austria, there are benches in front of houses where older neighbors can chat. I don't; maybe someday. :)
Oh my gosh, I'm starting to think there's something wrong with me for not joining in on that habit. 🙀
