Caladium plant. Caladium Candidum: It belongs to the Aracea family and its scientific name is “Caladium Candidum”. Its common name is “Caladium”. This is Caladium is native to the Amazon rainforests. The most common species are: Caladium pictaratum, Caladium bicolor, Caladium schomburgkii and Caladium candidum.
Caladiums are a species of plant with two colors, in the case of this plant its leaves are green and white. There are many species of caladium, in various colors, red, purple, pink, white and green. They are not very tall plants, reaching up to 30 cm in length.
These plants are made up of a set of leaves, which are heart-shaped, and in their center they have a midrib on their dark green leaves. The rest of the leaf has white with lines of various sizes of dark green. These leaves are each supported by a stem that starts from the terrestrial rhizome.
Caladium is a plant that does not tolerate direct exposure to the sun's rays. They are very thin leaves that would burn in the sun. Having them in semi-shade with solar radiation is enough to have them grow properly. Their substrate requires moisture. It should contain compost and sand to maintain good irrigation drainage. The plant reproduces by the bulbous rhizome. Simply separate it from the mother plant and transplant it into another pot that will eventually become another plant with the same characteristics as the mother plant.
It’s a plant used to the indoors, because it tolerates shade very well and can also be combined with other varieties to make a good ornament. The flower of this plant is a spadix or spike that ends in a white spathe.

The scientific name is the same everywhere. It may have another common name but in the parts where I find the image of this plant it always responds to the name of Caladium.

I do not understand why it seems crazy to you, I see that you do not understand much about the crossing of plants. They themselves seek their way. I have planted other types of plants and they are in charge of making their own crosses and making changes in their flower colors, I don't see why they can't change their leaf colors. I added color to the water once, red, and the plant changed from small red spots to large red spots. I even posted it on another platform.
That i need to see- and probably because i don't observe plant enough to understand how their mutations go unless it's in a controlled laboratory set up, of course. But i want to see that thing you did with the colored water! I'm curious about how it changed the leaf
