This here is a Bromeliad.

Its scientific name is “aechmea fasciata”

This is plant comes from Brazil and it is an epiphytic plant, that means that it grows on the trunks and trees of the mountains.

In this case it's a plant that was sown in a pot. It tolerates sunlight but can be grown indoors.

It has to be done carefully though, this one got some of its leaves burn from exposure.

The plant itself doesn’t need a lot of soil, so if you want to put one in a pot it doesn’t have to be a big pot.

However, what it needs is water inside of its leaves. The leaves are arranged in such a way that they join and form a small hole where water can be deposited, it’s there where small insects fall and then they proceed to give the plant the nutrients it needs.

This plant has been waiting a year for its flowers. The floral rod sticks out through the center of the hole formed by its leaves and then the top of the little stick opens and all of its beautiful petals come out.

The flower remains for several weeks and then changes colors. Until the flower dries and then the plant will dry up, but she will leave some children around it for her family to continue.

This is not a succulent, it is an exotic plant. Which comes from the mountains of the Venezuelan Amazon. It is really beautiful. Although they look like fingers with nails, hahaha

Beautiful flower @gertu13. Is this in the succulent family? The leaves look like from a succulent. Your plants love you :)

It is a beautiful flower that lasts for a few days. It is not succulent. The leaves of this plant are very thin. And succulent leaves will always have very thick leaves. Thanks, I love them too!
