"falling in love with your executioner" I don't know if this idiom is used in your country. However, in my country it is currently used to describe the situation of those who support the incompetent and unscrupulous government. I think that there are societies in all parts of the world that are suitable for this idiom. E.g; I know of peoples who still worship bad leaders. They are in the same situation as in this idiom. There were societies that once worshiped Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini in the distant past, and Ceausescu, Saddam, and Al-Bashir in the recent past. Do you think anything has changed today?
