I used to work as a teacher. I had a student who was a little weak in his studies. Once, when the final results were announced, he was about to fail the class. The principal called his parents to discuss the matter, but instead of taking responsibility, they asked me to do whatever I could to make sure their child passed the class. I found their request quite strange at the time. I wondered, “What kind of parents are they? Instead of paying attention to their child’s studies and helping him improve, they are pressuring the teacher to pass him.” It was definitely one of the strangest requests I ever received at work.
