A Critical Phase of Life I Faced (Part II) Part I: https://read.cash/@eommaZel/a-critical-phase-of-life-i-faced-part-i-e338e44b ***“I can't breathe. I can't barely walk straight either.”*** I was weak, feeling of catching my breath in each steps I took. I feel so tired but it was the day that I have to face the truth, to know the reasons behind why my health was deteriorating. February 24, 2024 I went to the clinic via an appointment to do the 2D echo and the ECG to know the reasons behind my irregular heartbeat. After the doctor arrived, I was checked immediately, he did the 2D echo test. ***“You're still young, your heart is doing well, look!”***while looking at the monitor beside me. **I felt instant relief.** *“Thanks God!”*I said on my mind. However, he continued to interview me while do the checking. I told him how long my cough was already and I loss significant weight too. Then, I saw how the doctor and some staffs face changed. They looked at me like I was carrying a disgusting disease. I knew what it was, I knew what's on their mind, that I could might have*tuberculosis*or something. After the 2D echo was done, the doctor told his staff to spray disinfectant all over the room where he did the test. *I understand, I might be carrying an infectious and contagious disease. I felt very stressed, again, I am overthinking.* The ECG was done by his staff and the result said it's***sinus tachycardia,***so the palpitations could be because of my prolonged cough. After the tests for my heart. I went back home, I saw my concerned family waiting for me and my results. I told them what the doctor said, that my heart is doing well. They felt instant relief. Nobody wants me to have a heart failure. Then, I took a rest and get my body and energy ready for another test, for my lungs. After lunch, I went to another clinic, to have my x-ray done. The result was saddening and frightening. Despite I haven't given it to my doctor yet for proper diagnosis, I already have an idea how worst my condition was . *I have****pneumonia****on lower lungs but the frightening one was, I have****pleural effusion****or water on my lungs.* My ECG result and X-Ray result:
That's why I'm feeling weak, why I can't breathe well at times. And I noticed my feet got swollen a little, or what you call an elephant feet or***edema***. The next day, I went to my doctor again, showed her my results, she then told me, my heart was fine but I must continue my beta-blocker medicine, carvidelol. She then prescribed me different sets of antibiotics again to be taken for 7 days. Then after the medication I shall do another x-ray test to see if there's any improvement. If no improvement, she might contact another doctor, a pulmonologist for some suggestions. As days passed, I didn't feel any relief. My cough was still there. My breathing was getting difficult, and my palpitations, despite the medicine, was still there, lingering. Nothing changed. I felt weaker, I just wanted to sleep but I can't sleep peacefully and comfortably either. I felt terrible, I can't take care of my kids, the house and even myself. ***Physically I became dry, very thin, like a plant that's slowly losing it's bloom.*** At night, I can't help myself but cry my heart out. I felt very hopeless sometimes because of the thought that I was not getting better, seeing my husband and family having a hard time too, and we're financially struggling that we're in huge debt and it was all because of me. That my aunt Emily, uncle Biboy, the wife of my cousin Dex, Riza, and my cousins, Aaron and Kate, gave so much efforts and contributed too to help me with the money for my medicines and check ups. They helped me financially and I felt I was somehow saved. *However, my day care son stopped going to school because no one will send him to school because my husband can't leave his job.* Thankfully, his teacher understood my situation and still let him moved up. But we failed to attend the moving up ceremony because I was still under medication and rest. *After those events. I realized, I felt I became a burden of my family. I felt very useless and that certain phase of my life I felt very stressed. And it's not helping me and my situation.* After my medication and thorough prayers, I did another x-ray hoping and still hoping for a good result. However, nothing changed. I still have pneumonia and the pleural effuison, it's progressing. I'm worsening! After seeing the results, my uncle Biboy told me to do a second opinion. He recommended his doctor when he got hit by pneumonia too. But the doctor was located on another town, approximately, more than 15 kms away from our town. Because I don't have enough money, my uncle Biboy and aunt Emily, again decided to help me financially, they handed me P1,500 so I can go for another check up. They told their eldest son, my cousin Dex, to accompany me and drive me to the clinic. Because I wanted to be cured and healed, I followed their suggestions and was thankful for their support always. I will cut my story here for now, it's too lengthy already, maybe you got tired reading. To those who commented on my first article and I haven't posted a reply, I'm so sorry and thank you for all the concern guys. I appreciate you all. ❤️ I wasn't able to reply because I wasn't feeling good those times. ✍🏻@eommaZel@eommaZel

Hi Eomma - Wishing you all the best on your restoring your health! If you are willing to share, did the pneumonia and cough resolve or improve, or is it an ongoing battle? Were doctors able to find the root cause and did any of the treatments help so far? Will pray for your restored health. Best wishes to you and your family.
Thank you so much, Xav for reading my story. To be honest, I am cured now but it was a very traumatic experience, but something is still going on in my health. I can say, I am free from pneumonia but my body is still recovering. I can't even regain my weight. 🥺 But thank you so much for your concern and prayers. I really appreciate it. 🙏🏻
Good to hear the pneumonia at least is gone!
Yes! Thanks God. 🙏🏻☺️
