Another exclusive on read.cash... already #64 How time flies! This is about me and my doggies. https://read.cash/@emily2u/my-dogs-and-i-418f6c95
@emily2u in August 2021
Congratulations to me! 888.... Huat ah!!! LOL Next target 999 or let's just make it 1000? Woohoo!
During my Nepal trip, I was hosted by a "lama". One day, he had to settle something at a monastery in Kathmandu and took me along. This was a shot of the compound of the monastery, that's not open to the public.
Awwww thank you so much @Jane for the sponsorship (renewal, I think). I still don't know how to see LOL You're my first sponsor that turned things around for me on my read.cash journey and I know that you changed the perceptions for many of us newbies towards read.cash. Thank you for spreading the kindness around. God bless you!
The loudest ever shoutout to my bestest wingmate /cheerleader @stevea68 for his sponsorship renewal, who is only on noise.cash and read.cash to support my content. I appreciate all that you do! Muah!!!
Thank you so much @Bloghound for your sponsorship increment / renewal. I am so blessed to enjoy your support.
Almost noon already... but I'm stealing some time here to share my latest read.cash exclusive #65 https://read.cash/@emily2u/quota-up-working-through-the-weekend-again-836928e7 I really do feel like I've maxed out on my "free time". Is that even possible?
Wooooo what a day!!! Thank you so much @Jher0122 for being my sponsor. Blessings to you, and may you thrive further on read.cash!
Whitewater rafting is a popular water activity in my home state of Perak, along the Kampar River in Gopeng. I have done whitewater rafting a number of times, even though I have water phobia. What I HATE the most every time is that we have to undergo a water confidence session.... no matter how I am forced to get into the water, I am never confident, OK! Granted, I KNOW how important it is to stay calm when we get thrown into the water in the midst of rafting, but this isβ¦
A new day, a new thought. My read.cash exclusive #66 Something to ponder on... not only myself, but everyone as well. https://read.cash/@emily2u/no-one-to-talk-to-1671b1ca
You know you're a good writer when you cry reading your own article as though you are reading someone else's work for the first time *faceplam* I'm referring to #66 of my read.cash article.
Have you stayed on a houseboat before? Considering my water phobia, I have spent quite a few nights on various types of boats in the middle of the lake/sea. This houseboat is one of few that operates in Royal Belum, Perak, Malaysia. These boats are equipped with different amenities, depending on the level of luxury. Mine even has a karaoke set. LOL
Let's begin the morning (well, at least it's morning for me) with some reading. A little about my work and my life. #67! Can you believe it? https://read.cash/@emily2u/importance-of-the-television-can-you-live-without-it-9d725ed1
When flying was a thing and publishing in an in-flight magazine was the ultimate breakthrough for travel writers. My friend came across my piece en route home on board Malindo Air OD 152. She even smuggled the copy home for me. Ahahahaa!!!!
Two years ago today, I was at Damai Laut Resort in Lumut... or its full name: Swiss-Garden Beach Resort Damai Laut. It's been too long since hotels and resorts have been forced to close. I wonder what has happened to these two horses.
Just managed to log in before I call it a night to see sponsorship from new writer but long-time reader Bryan @MegaKyodaiBanrai and renewal (I think) from Ed @TengoLoTodo. Thank you for your amazing support, guys. Much appreciation!!
A continuation of my article yesterday..... come and give me your answer. LOL #68 https://read.cash/@emily2u/what-cant-you-live-without-63b4b1a0
Gopeng in Perak, Malaysia, is a real paradise for adventurers. The other day, I shared a photo of whitewater rafting. A short distance from the river is this cave by the name of Kandu, where you can involve yourself in caving and ziplining inside the cave. What do you think? It's s dry cave though, so it's safer compared to a flooded cave.
This is called 'murex'. Have you tried it before and do you like it? I don't like it. It's so spiky, and it's too much work to dig that little speck of flesh to eat. I'd rather have someone else do the digging for me, and I just eat. LOL
A busy morning today, as I had to rush out some work...weekend coming, so everyone chased for their stuff. Huhuhu!!! Here's my exclusive #69 for read.cash https://read.cash/@emily2u/crying-over-my-own-writing-9be60950 Let me know your thoughts.
Thank you so much @Pichi28 for being my latest sponsor, and taking over the top spot of my widget! Woohooo... may you be further blessed!
This compact car was my taxi from hotel to Tribhuvan International airport, to board a helicopter to the mountain. The taxis in Kathmandu are all very small that there was no space for our luggage and had to be placed at the carrier on that roof. I was praying that it wouldn't rain or our stuff would get drenched, and no one wants that at the beginning of the trip!
It's the weekend again and as I have to work through it yet again, this read.cash exclusive #70 is extremely apt to be published today. https://read.cash/@emily2u/our-time-is-not-our-own-69ef5fe7 *hustle!
Much appreciation to @Eylz2021 for upping / renewing (?) sponsorship to me. I am so thankful to be blessed with your support!
I use to travel widely to see for myself how things are done. This was a shot of how cloth was printed by hand, in a technique and concept called 'batik'. I also had the opportunity to print and paint the cloth for a hands-on experience.
Big thanks to @Samantha-Smith for being my latest sponsor and further motivating me to share! Hugs and blessings to you.
YAY YAY More Satoshi for my kitty! Beats the 2 sats I get per spin spinning the wheel once a day.
Happy Sunday! Before I get down to work, let me share my read.cash #71 with you. Here are some thoughts I have this morning. Feel free to share yours with me, too! https://read.cash/@emily2u/random-thoughts-on-a-sunday-e18c4c45
Thank you so much @zolabundance2 for sponsoring me. More random thoughts will be shared soon. AHAHAHA!!!! Jokes aside, I appreciate your support. May you be blessed abundantly.
At the foot of Mount Manaslu along the Himalayan range in Nepal. I must admit, this trip was the most taxing on me physically and mentally. It totally took me out of my comfort zone. However, if I was offered another opportunity to do this again, I would go in a heartbeat. This time, though, I'd take along an oxygen mask to aid respiration. Phew!!!
Have to start my day really early today due to 101 things to settle!!! But here's a topic for discussion. Let me know your thoughts. #72 https://read.cash/@emily2u/sniff-sniff-to-tell-or-not-to-tell-b6cae98a
Thank you so much @ARTicLEE for you sponsorship renewal (I think). More blessings to you.
This is part of Malaysia's longest gold thread hand embroidery and is recognized in the country's Book of Records with the record "Longest Handmade Embroidery" since August 2016. In Malay, this technique is called Tekat Gubah. It took the team of 31 members three months to complete it. Do you see a floral motif? That's the nine-petal Bunga Tanjung, the official Selangor state flower.
Thank you so much @AmazingWorld for your sponsorship, which translates to support for me and my writing endeavor! Much appreciation, and may you be blessed more!
Uneasy thoughts on my mind today, which you can read here at #73 exclusive read.cash article. Let me know what you think also. https://read.cash/@emily2u/last-day-on-earth-b7acecab
What I would pay to enjoy a life like this forever. It's like just a dream now. My luxurious "honeymoon" in Vietnam is coming up soon in read.cash.
Broken noise, almost zero tips, and a busy day yet again... but the read.cash link must be shared. The hustle continues... #74 already! Yup, I'm counting. https://read.cash/@emily2u/starting-from-zero-twice-over-14f0f9e5
Can you spot me ~ lounging by the infinity pool at this Nha Trang resort in Vietnam.... way back in time. Oh well, those were the days.
My friend flew out from Kuala Lumpur on Malindo Air and came across my article in the in-flight magazine. This was in August 2018 where I wrote about Labuan. I visited Labuan twice, and it is worth visiting if just for its sunsets! He didn't nick a copy as he was flying out but I got a copy for him later as these accompanying photographs were shot by him.
Received notification that I have achieved 2503 view for my articles. That's 74 articles in 2.5 months! This works out to be 33 views each. HEHEHEHE Thank you everyone for your support! π
Good morning, Noisers! This is my #75 exclusive read.cash article https://read.cash/@emily2u/independence-comes-at-a-high-cost-4613c605 The road is long and lonely! What say you?
Another long shot of me hanging out at L'Alya Ninh Van Bay in Nha Trang, Vietnam. oooo those were the days, now just a speck of memory.
An ode today, a special day. My thoughts + a special poem for your reading pleasure. An exclusive read.cash #76 https://read.cash/@emily2u/an-ode-on-this-special-day-3380b7d0 P/S: Yes, I'm still counting!
One of the best aspects of travelling is the opportunity to explore local food. Whether it's street fare or high-end culinary delights, food makes a great part of memory of that specific trip. As I was browsing through the hundreds of photos from my Vietnam trip for my upcoming read.cash article, this particular shot stood out for me. These authentic Vietnamese dishes were prepared by the Executive Chef of the resort that I stayed at.
Fresh from the oven, exclusive article on read.cash #77! How time flies. https://read.cash/@emily2u/weekend-vibes-ebe205a6 What are you up to this weekend. For me, it's still work, work and work. What's new?
Can you spot the swimming koi on the wall? This decoration is supposed to be of a fish pond, and the decorative pieces are actually painted glass. This feature is on the wall of a famous glass artist at his house in Kuala Lumpur.
This wall art was a decoration in my hotel room in Avenue J Hotels, Kuala Lumpur. The saying was true back when I spent my nights there during a trip. Now, Anywhere Cannot! And need to be very rich! Huhuhu!!!
Good morning, Noise-fam. It's Sunday already and I'm right now brisk walking. Woke up before 6am. Ahhhh too early π Here's my exclusive read.cash piece for the day. #78 already!! https://read.cash/@emily2u/my-luxurious-honeymoon-in-vietnam-a186a6a9 But it's best to read #77 before that, if you haven't. https://read.cash/@emily2u/weekend-vibes-6d2234cc Have a good day..... While I slog at work again. π
Today being Sunday, I've some time, so bathed the dog and cooked ... normally just buy from outside. No time to cook. Ahahaha!! But still have work to do today, so have to rushhhhh before a new week comes. *pant* *pant*
While cleaning up photos from my mobile phone gallery, I came across this photo. It is the cashew apple of my cashew tree. During the fruiting season, a lot of people stop outside my house to admire the tree, like Christmas time. Unfortunately, the tree toppled over during a ferocious thunderstorm last year.
Crazy Busy... no time to be BLUE on Monday. Come read my read.cash #79 https://read.cash/@emily2u/10-hour-flight-sitting-next-to-jbj-c800f19d Will you take this challenge?
In Samagaun village in Nepal, outside the house of my host, waiting for our "picnic food" to be ready and packed. I call it "picnic food" because we were going on daily treks and because we were so unfit, we had to take multiple breaks, hence picnic! Looking forward to the day when I get to travel again.
Went to bed at 11.30pm and woke up at 5.30am.... it's been super long since I slept this early! Well, a new dawn, a new article on read.cash and it's #80 already! https://read.cash/@emily2u/mastering-ones-emotions-aee987af
Just been informed that I am losing my best client account starting September. Oh well...have to slog on with the awful ones. π Such is life. What are my options?
Vietnam, Vietnam, I miss you. This was the night view of my hotel Villa Song Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City, as seen from the waterway as I took the boat shuttle to the city. When I returned to my hotel after my outing, I took a Grab as the boat shuttle had already ended its service for the day. The Grab driver didn't know the way, so had to use Waze but his mobile signal was so poor, I had to use my phone ... yet, he couldn't find and kept asking me where. How the f* do I knowβ¦
It's the 18th of the month. What does it mean? The day for the dreaded performance report for my client. I wish I have a superpower to just skip this task, and don't mind losing a day or two every month during this period. Will worry about that later at 10am, so now, here's something to share from my read.cash. Article #81 already!!! https://read.cash/@emily2u/thief-in-my-own-home-38fce02f Thanks so much for your support, guys. I know I've been poor in networking */panting
This is a typical scene in a Malaysian 'kampung' (or village). Fresh air, peaceful, no pressure, friendly neighbors, with nary a care in the world. Ah, what a life.
Thank you so much @Eylz2021 for increasing and renewing your sponsorship! Much appreciation and may more blessings come your way. Muah!!!
Thank you so much to my 111 subscribers on read.cash!!! I love you all and appreciate the support that you have provided me on this read.cash journey.
read.cash #82 time flies when you're having fun but I can't say the same for all aspects of life. Simply overwhelmed and I HATE it. https://read.cash/@emily2u/need-a-hug-32a29795
It was raining very hard the night we arrived in Kathmandu from Samagaun village. I was caught in it and had to purchase a 'Made in China' umbrella. Walking from my hotel to the restaurant, I spotted these three dogs obediently staying under the shade in front of this cloth shop.
Was chatting with my friend about the places that we would like to visit once borders reopen. For me, it's Nepal. Here is a photo taken during my visit to the monkey temple, Swayambhunath in Kathmandu. When we wanted to return to our hotel, the taxi drivers thought that they could charge us foreigner pricing. Luckily, our local contact had already informed us beforehand of the average fare. Upon arrival at our hotel, we entered the next-door hotel, instead of our own hotel!β¦
Today on read.cash... I have a topic to discuss.... let me know what you think! Boyfriend/Girlfriend stuff is just crazy. https://read.cash/@emily2u/no-forgiveness-bf43f4f3 Oh, this is #83....already. LOL
This is Shengxing Train Station in Miaoli County, Taiwan. look at the pup on the platform... waiting for its train. LOL Trains no longer stop at Shengxing, but this station is still preserved as a tourist destination because of its unique location at the highest point of the rail line at 402 meters above sea level.
Ah.. it's the weekend already ... but it's still work, work, work for me. So, what's new eh? Today, is a follow-up piece to my article yesterday, about boyfriend/girlfriend issues hohoho... as though I'm the expert! #84 already!!! https://read.cash/@emily2u/psycho-girlfriends-aac3e9d2
Colorful wall mural along the World Heritage Lane in Kuala Terengganu's Chinatown, in the east coast state of Terengganu. I love to explore places on foot because a side lane like this definitely can't be seen if toured in a vehicle.
Sunday but so what? It's still a day of work for me. BUT... let me have some fun before I start crushing the numbers and data. Want to read how my mind works? Hehe...I'm shocked myself! https://read.cash/@emily2u/me-my-dark-mind-e9bb01a4 This is #85!!! Can you believe it?
Wow, what a milestone achieved overnight while I was asleep.... I thought I still had a long way to go as I was stuck at 98x or around there. Had looked forward to capturing 999 or 1000 but I missed them. I think the system was stuck or something that the subs were not reflected as they happened, and then I got them added to my profile in one shot. Whatever the case, a BIG thank you to everyone who is subscribed to me!!! All 1010 + of you!!
I really couldn't stop laughing when I came across this stall at the street food fair in Taipei, Taiwan, when I visited one time. I didn't expect it... how can anyone eat chicken butts, not an odd one, but so many, skewered!!!! Eewwwwwww I retched just imagining it!!!
Good morning all. I woke up late today at 7am, because of disrupted sleep! Seriously, I can't remember when it was that I really had a great night. *yawn* Well, today's a new work week and I'm trying not to allow Monday Blues to set in. My weekend is gone just like that, spent working. Sigh. Here is my funny article on read.cash today. #86... https://read.cash/@emily2u/im-not-filipina-but-sometimes-i-am-cac9592f

Good morning. Today, woke up at 5.30am. Yup, this is the reason my afternoon naps are non-negotiable!!! Come and read how I have turned into the World's Boringest Person!!! https://read.cash/@emily2u/the-worlds-boringest-person-2ee6ef9f Oh this is #87.
Was talking with my friend about the matcha ice cream from Family Mart that we enjoyed previously, and was reminded of the indigo ice cream that I had from Zhou Ye Cottage in Miaoli County, Taiwan. This ice cream was made from dye extracted from the indigo plant, Strobilanthes cusia.
Say 'Hello' to Chocolate and Milky! This pair of alpacas live at the KL Tower mini zoo. Hands down they were the highlight of my visit to the zoo! I wonder when I can swing by again. I still can only travel within 10 kilometers radius from my home!
It's time to rise and shine again!! Is waking up at 6.30am early? It's late by my definition but I do welcome that extra hour of sleep. Come and read my read.cash exclusive #88 https://read.cash/@emily2u/the-fat-chicken-and-other-birds-d27a8c30 π

Fried chicken today. 4 pieces only because it's a lot of work, not only the frying but the cleaning up after that. I don't have an air fryer. Should I invest in one? I don't cook all that often, though. What do you think?

A pair of sun conure birds feeding from my friend's palm. We visited this modest bird aviary in KL before the lockdown. Really had so much fun with the friendly birds who would land anywhere, including on our heads!
Like it or not, a new day is here and it's soon time to hustle. Had a bad night just drifting in and out of sleep as I had my dogter in my room due to the rain, but she wouldn't let me sleep. Ggrrrrrr Here's #90 of my read.cash exclusive https://read.cash/@emily2u/wisdom-from-my-dad-2f5c5283 We always have something to learn from our parents. Come, let's learn from my old man.
No more social life..... this was my virgin mojito during a night out in the capital city, pre-pandemic. Not a drop of alcohol for me, cos I'm a teetotaller.
I told a friend that I have never visited any National Parks in Malaysia. Kinda strange that I have traveled so extensively within the country, and yet no National Park?....... Ahhhh then I remembered that I have been to Bako National Park... two or three times! Wooeeeee look at me... so forgetful!

This is yak yoghurt... we had the opportunity to try it when we visited the shepherd in the mountains of Manaslu in Nepal. I only had a little. Some had a stomach ache after consuming it and had to poo in the mountains, out in the open. HAHAHA!!!
The white peak is Mount Manaslu in Nepal. I took this shot early in the morning. The mountain is at the back of our lodge and we can see it every time we leave or return to our accommodation. It's beautiful and snow capped even in Summer, when I was there.
