Good evening, I hope you had a happy Sunday. I will tell you about a monastery located in Trabzon province of Turkey and show it with a few photos. Sumela Monastery is popularly known as "Virgin Mary". The building, which is located at an altitude of about 300 meters from the valley, continued the tradition of establishing monasteries outside the city, in forests, caves and watersides. It is a monastery founded by two priests from Athens, around 400. years , during the reign of the Byzantine emperor Theodosius I. It has been continuing its existence with its current state since the 13th century by making repairs.
