Had a nice hearty breakfast today. A typical Malaysian breakfast of the oh so common 'Nasi Lemak' and the not so common 'Chai Kuey'.

Nasi Lemak can be said to be the national dish of Malaysia. It comprises of coconut steamed rice that's super fluffy and full of flavor because of the coconut milk used to cook with the rice, spicy anchovies and onions 'sambal', fresh slices of cucumber, roasted groundnuts, and hard-boiled egg.

'Chai Kuey' is a Chinese breakfast dish which can be found at local hawker eateries. It isn't so common so you'll have to hunt for these delicious 'dim sum-like' puffs.

It's savory mince pork and lots of chives, and I mean really loaded with chives, all wrapped in a rice flour wrapper and steamed. I absolutely love this but some people don't as they don't like the chives flavor. For me the more the better. It comes with a sweet and spicy chili sauce got you to dip it with. Perfect combo!

Super delicious breakfast and a must try if you're ever visiting Malaysia.
