How to lead a Happy life

When we are young, our happiness are simple, our thoughts and our needs are simple. Toys, candies, cookies, being able to play outside with friends, those are child's happiness. But as we grow old, our needs become complex. We began to set parameter to it that make us forget the simple joy of being a child.

Be kind in small ways. Help someone carry their things for them or help some elderly to cross the streets or just by sharing something to someone. These are just some of the ways of being kind. These maybe small but it will add up and will make you feel proud of yourself. Helping others is the best feeling in the world, isn't it?

Do what you love. If your passion is writing, do it. If your passion is dancing, do it. If your passion is singing, do it. Doing things that you love will fill your heart with joy. Doesn't it sound better than forcing yourself to do something that you don't love?

Appreciate yourself. This is what people don't do enough. Because we are busy comparing ourselves to others. Make a list about yourself, things you possess, material things or non-material things. After that you will realize that you have more than enough than you think.

Forgive and forget. I know that this is easier said than done. But holding a grudge will harm you more that the person you're holding it against. Come to think of it, that person is living happily while you are still clinging on to that grudge for the rest of your life, aren't you bothered with it? So learn to forgive and forget and focus on the bright future that awaits you. And soon you will feel much better of yourself.

Learn to say no. Don't be the person that people walk all over, set boundaries and learn to say no when needed. Recognize the unneceesary things and conflicts just waste your time and energy. You can still be a good person with a good heart and still say no.

Be thankful of everything you have. Family, good health, friends these are the things that we forgot to be thankful for. For we are focusing more on material things in these world. Be grateful if you have all of them, not all are privileged to have a family to rely on or not get sick or friends that always be there for you. Let's focus on the things that we have and be grateful for it.

Do what is not "you." Try new things, read a book or watch a movie that is not in your usual genre. Learn a liitle about a topic that is not something you are usually into. Think outside the box, get out from your comfort zone. You will be surprised that there are things that you can do that even yourself do not think that you can do.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY,

Smile. If someone frown at you, smile. If something does not go as you planned it, smile. Remember one thing about life, When life give you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile.
