A fraudulent attack aimed at disclosing certain data of the owner of the wallet for the purpose of subsequent phishing. Simply put, this is a type of scam that involves sending tiny amounts of digital assets, i.e. “dust”, to thousands of wallets. The attack has different goals: - First of all, attackers can track the transaction data of wallets in order to identify addresses with large amounts, and then determine and deanonymize the owners (for example, using doxing). - Another goal of the scammers is to send malicious links in the "Notes" tag of the transaction, which is called "dust transaction". In such cases, the destination tag uses a decoy like: "Participate in the airdrop via the link ...". If the recipient clicks on it, then he becomes a victim of a full-fledged dust attack, for example, reveals his seed phrase on a false site. 💡 Conclusion: interacting with links in the destination tag is dangerous. A dust attack on the wallet does not allow attackers to take possession of the cryptocurrency, only human stupidity can contribute to this.
