Bloomberg's article on rugpulls is accurate but the head image the artist created doesn't suit the topic at all. Interestingly, it highlights the main falsehoods spread about crypto -- that it's nasty like oil and that it is hugely wasteful. As far as meme coins go, there are indeed many scams, rugpulls and they are not hard to spot. This is why DYOR (do your own research) was coined for crypto; it's a pioneering realm and comes with dangers. Nonetheless, the 'framing' of the article is designed to resound with people who have a negative or critical mindset regarding crypto and NFTs. It's reinforcing a division where there ought to be none. Moving forward, everyone profits from egalitarian systems, open source decentralized digital money. It's closed-source, CBDC's and centralized NFT protocols that are taking us into the stone age and to a place where injustice reigns. People should have a right to know the maximum supply of their preferred currency. Governments shouldn't be able to hyperinflate currency willy-nilly harming its citizens for merely existing.
