New Review of JungleTv -- a Banano video based community -- after a bit more exposure to the platform that pays Banano for viewing Youtube videos selected by the community: Pros: +Fun to watch and force people to watch videos of your choosing, fun using the Banano based video viewing system. +There's a kind of enjoyable mischievousness you may feel queuing up videos. You could surprise people with something nice, or put on something to expand their views, there's just a lot to try on here. It's exciting. +Tipping, earning Ban by watching videos, captcha are all Okay or Good. Adding to a playlist is a lot of fun, which is surprising because you're spending money on making people watch videos. That's a neat achievement for JungleTv creators. Cons: + Not fun to have policy-inappropriate content shown and not be able to skip. + The chat is a cesspool with private matters discussed and people generally being bad. Sometimes cool chatters arrive but the moderation is non existent, apart from telling people not to post spam links. That's sad because if the naughty users were removed or silenced it would be a far more inviting, better community. +People queuing violent videos or sexual videos despite the policies in place. Some rap videos are ultra violent - showing scenes of murder, flashing imagery transposed into it for more traumatic effect I suppose. There's a policy against violent or prank/accident violence videos but it's disregarded. There could be safeguards put in place but the creators are not listening or don't care. Same goes for some sexual videos -- but the line is blurred between 'music rap video' and 'soft core' these days, so I'm not sure what to add here. I think a safeguard would be that anyone putting someone's body on display should click a 'body imagery content' - so that the JungleTv UI would have a notification pop up for everyone to see there's a bit racier content coming up in the queue. "Upcoming in Queue: Adult Sexual Imagery, May be Inappropriate for Some Viewers'; this would give everyone a chance to skip, etc. if they're just trying to chill with music in the background or view documentaries. It would also give people a chance to completely have a violence/sexual imagery free playlist on Jungle that rocks, is chill and is inviting to new people who don't know about this site. -- Probably the best thing that can be done is to remove chat. Chat introduces an un-moderated and nasty element to a really great concept and an enjoyable, rewarding Ban experience for the Banano ecosystem. With the amount of chat that goes on, much of it is someway toxic. About women, crudeness and other kinds of material that just doesn't help Banano in its mission to reach more people as a fun tipping currency. When I think of CryptoMonkeys and Banano, I don't want to be thinking of crude, criminals discussing their exploits and crimes. But that is what is somewhat here. I hate to have to write this but that's what it is. I can't and won't recommend Jungle any more as I did in the past, and only if it significantly changes.
