Splinterlands hype has softened this week as some card prices have found a stabilizing point. SPS (Splintershards crypto) has seen a drop from 36 cents to 26 cents + or -. Overall, there are concerned sentiments about 1) Balancing of older 'gen' NFT cards 2) Infrastructure. While both points are equally important, balancing is such a painful and damaging thing to do to a swathe of NFTs. If say, a certain Light or Earth NFT is overpowered, then you make the adjustment after 7 days and post about it. You wait. Then you see the community response. But SPL team may be about to make a serious mistake if they make all older gen NFTs debuffed in favor of the new Chaos NFTs. As you can tell, I'm not a big SPL player but I know enough about the danger of introducing huge balance changes. I sure hope they ensure the longevity of their product by diligent, slow balancing with consistent and clear blog communication. That's the way to do it!
