The steps that paper money has to go through to be 'minted' - for those who wrongly say or support the false belief that Bitcoin (blockchain processing) is energy inefficient: 1) Special paper and ink (factories producing pollution) 2) Inspection (more paper and ink waste) 3) Overprinting of serial numbers and seals (specialized materials and minerals that produce pollution to mine, transport and apply) 4) Cutting and trimming (paper waste, land fills for 'recycling') 5) Shrink-wrapping and delivery to the Federal Reserve System (air pollution from vehicles and transfer of paper money). That's at least 5 points minimum where paper money produces huge amounts of pollution or waste. With Bitcoin, you have nodes processing, on-grid, off-grid renewable or specially designed plants (like a volcano in El Salvador) used to power APU's, as an example. Bitcoin requires no transportation so produces ZERO pollution, it requires no PRINTING of a carbon based representation every DAY and furthermore, after time Bitcoin becomes even more efficient. It does not require trees to be cut down, no minerals to be mined, and can likely continue to be maintained by nodes with existing technologies - GPU's and APU's and other server technology from the past 5 years' supply. Additionally, new breakthroughs and share mining are enabling even further efficiency, as clouds can combine the CPU capability of billions of devices across the globe -- without the need for additional power consumption. One day people might laugh at using the paper dollar, but for now the ignorance regarding Bitcoin's 'energy inefficiency' is rewarded by tv clown news media.
