What is spoofing? It's when a central exchange, bank or other provider of financial services spoofs data. Individuals not having special illegal agreements and friendships with these service providers are then cheated out of vast sums of money, never having realized the data presented to them at the time of trading or making critical financial decisions was completely fabricated. Meanwhile, institutions with friendships with these banks or trading houses reap massive profits by essentially cheating millions of people. JP Morgan has been caught committing this crime. In recent times, we reported on Coinbase listing false prices of crypto via their Coinbase app. They will use the excuse it is delayed data, but it is not. Others like Kucoin practice other forms of fraud like offering margins way in excess of a consumer's ability to repay a margin call (20x for example), acting essentially as corrupt casinos with rigged tables of data. Their home screen often features unproven coins with absurd volumes and trading activity that suddenly triggers in reverse movement when a person places a trade. This form of centralization and bad faith data-manipulation and service inevitably leads to many leaving them in favor of DEXs. Enough bad actors and it leaves a bad taste among the crypto crowd that favors decentralized, provable transactions and data. The verifiability of data sources on the blockchain makes the sort of spoofing committed by JP Morgan even easier to spot. JP Morgan would hate to have their company's tx trail on the blockchain. --And that's how I was able to spot Coinbases' manipulations of prices. Kucoin's manipulations and quite possibly fraud data in their app will likely also be exposed at a later date. Examine the blockchain. Watch the charts using several sources. Don't use centralized exchanges if you can avoid them, or minimize your use of them. Move your funds to cold storage and to your own wallets (private key is yours). Don't rely on legacy services to trade Bitcoin or Ether. Buy direct P2P, use DEXs, there are tons and some of the most reliable ones are easy to find. JP Morgan spoofed metals (gold, silver, etc) data for over 5 years at least! And may still be doing it: https://www.cnbc.com/2020/09/29/jp-morgan-settles-spoofing-lawsuit-alleging-fraud-in-metals-trades.html Coinbase manipulates prices of crypto and shows delayed prices to give themselves an advantage over the consumer. DEXs solve this problem and highlight crime when it occurs so we can all learn from it.
