When CBDC goes into place, there are a large number of issues that come into view: Is there 1 for 1 exchange of the USDC-CBDC for USD? What about other currencies and what exchanges will be sanctioned for use-- will DEXs be allowed to exchange for the CBDC in the US or prohibited? What about freezes, will the US CBDC be arbitrarily frozen for some when it is deposited to their accounts, say if they post a tweet or publish a prayer on Facebook, etc? Examples of unclear situations abound here and will probably remain unanswered until the day it occurs. And one final rather upsetting idea to home owners -- what will happen when banks no longer accept payments using their usual bank accounts with USD? Will they be asked to pay in the CBDC only? Will their properties be seized if they have no way to do a 1:1 trade of USD to USDC-CBDC?
