Alien Worlds just suffered a pretty nasty bot attack involving some 10,000 bots attached to one user. The bots were mining TLM (Trillium crypto) at a rate of 10k accounts , averaging 0.01xx = 140 / min. That's about $12 USD per minute or $756 per hour. They were also exploiting smart contracts and minting NFT's of the most rare tools and weapons and people NFTS for the game. The loss of value is tremendous because minting these rare tools reduces the value of other people's valuable NFT's and also reduces the supply mintable for other players. For example, if a max mintable NFT (legendary) only allows 1000 NFTS, this player has minted a disproportionate number just for himself bypassing Luck variable implemented in Alien Worlds for some estimation of fairness.
