Is it possible to use or store electricity from lightning? I don’t know if it is possible. So I searched the topic in google and found that there is no technology that can help use or store electricity from lightning. A single lightning bolt stores energy approximately 5 gigajoules which takes very short period of time (microseconds) to land on earth. However, it always falls on a small location. What I understood by reading some articles is that there is still no technology that can immediately capture 5 gigajoules energy that pass within some miliseconds. However, lightning bolts doesn’t always carry the same voltage and current. Sometimes it is too high which can destroy the storage or too low which will not work or carry sufficient energy.
