Did you know the interruption in the continuous flow of blood and oxygen to the brain causes stroke? It usually happens due to a blood clot which stops the normal flow of blood and oxygen to the brain. This is called ischemic stroke. There is another stroke called hemorrhagic stroke which generally happens due to a burst blood vessels in the brain. In both cases, patients need immediate treatment to prevent brain damage or disability or death. Disability is common in stroke. My mother was paralyzed due to stroke on Dec 24, 2011.
