Interesting article that links metaverse with cryptocurrency and discusses the fierce rivalry and competition between the Winklevoss twins and Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg. The Winklevoss twins were the guys who spent about $11 million to buy what at the time was estimated to be 1% of all bitcoin in existence. That was in 2013 and by 2021 they had built their Gemini cryptocurrency empire with their own money. Now they are competing with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg but they are investing their own money. They are using OPP (other people's money). Cameron Winklevoss, says with regard to the metaverse that Facebook is “centralized” but he is seizing an opportunity to take a different path and go with a “decentralized” metaverse. The twins have managed to raise $400 million from various interested parties to be invested in this decentralized metaverse.
