COUNTING MY BLESSINGS Yesterday, there was severe weather alerts in various parts of Texas where I live. Tornadoes were striking different cities. Our regularly scheduled news programming was interrupted so that there was constant reporting by the weather team on the tornadoes and warnings for people to get to safety. I grew up in Florida and lived through many hurricanes. I have never experienced a tornado, even though I have lived in places that were prone to tornadoes. EXAMPLE: I lived in Round Rock, Texas for years. Now I live in Austin and it's less than a half hour drive to get to Round Rock. It was a lot of rain and thunder last night but when I woke up this morning the weather was beautiful. I listened to the evening local news and folks in Round Rock are out working together and cleaning up the damage caused the tornado. Yet where I was, there were no weather problems. When it comes to tornadoes, I always heed the warnings. But I have never been in any of those locations whenever the tornadoes touch down. I am counting my blessings.
