Fidel Castro served as Prime Minister of Cuba 1959 - 1976 and President 1976 - 2008. He became ill and died in 2016, but his cause of death was not disclosed. He was cremated and there was a state funeral with mourning for several days (though I doubt the people will truly miss him). PHOTO: Havana, Cuba - it has not changed since the days of Fidel Castro (1926 -2016). He stopped that country dead in its tracks. It was frozen in time for over 50 years. My opinion. I'm not Cuban. But you can ask a Cuban who fled Castro. See if they will say something different from what I've said. On the plus side: Cuba has an excellent healthcare system. #Travel
