Sometimes when there are issues on the top of the blockchain, how it works, what should be done on it, and what shouldn't. Any many important decisions could be taken by the stakeholders. Sometimes even them don't decide some things. And a conflict may start, that's why we have forking. It's a great idea. That leave the old idea working and the new one will be supported as well.
