Greece - Around Athens - Koropi - Beaches: Tripes Karamanlis.

The 'Τρυπες Καραμανλη' beach in Koropi (Κορωπί) is one of the 'hidden gems' I wrote about **before**. The name for this beach is actually very funny as it means 'The holes of Karamanli'. https://read.cash/@chryptof/why-do-i-write-about-greek-beaches-37edbaf5 Constantinos Karamanli was a former prime minister and president of Greece. This beach is named after the small tunnels, above this beach, that were created under his leadership. This small pebbled beach is a about 25 km. away from the city center of Athens (Syntagma square). It is easy approachable as it is directly located next to the main road, Sounio Avenue (Λεωφόρου Αθηνών-Σουνίου), that connects Athens with Sounio (the most southern tip of Attica). Also above the beach, there is a small parking spot that houses about 25 cars.

In this small bay there are always 2 or 3 fishing boats anchored. This makes the view, in my opinion, even more scenery. As mentioned above, the beach is covered with some small pebbles and as it is a relatively deep bay, the waters are most of the time very calm. I LOVE it here. Ok, the road is immediately above the beach so you might have some disturbance (noise) from it but it is bearable. No a big deal. At least there are not a lot of people here and you can enjoy (as of June 2020) 'Social Distancing' (according to the COVID-19 regulations).

The 'Tripes Karamanlis' beach has no accommodation at all.
