Are you a compulsive buyer or shopper? When you got your salary at the end of the month, go shopping, and then later on realize where your money went through? We are sometimes like that. When we have the money, we like to buy everything. We like to buy everything that we see. Sometimes we are losing our minds just by looking to an item or product. We just feel the urge to buy it. We just suddenly think that we need it, we need that, and that and that. We don't realize that we are being too compulsive and we cannot decide better.

This article is about pointing out an issue that is happening with everyone. Or at least not most of time, but we still experience it. This is about explaining an issue that usually occurs inside our heads. This about knowing the difference between what we need and what we want. Not all we want is what we need. There are a lot of reasons that will justify the differences between the two. And we will try to mention it here, so please do continue reading.

Did you already buy something and when you went home, you can't decide what to do on that thing? The item just caught your attention and then there you are, bought it out of the blue. I have experienced it. I don't know how many times, but it happened often to me back then. Not until I realized the bad side of it. Yes, you felt the satisfaction of buying the product or an item. You felt the satisfaction of holding it and being yours. But, sometimes it is not what you need. Sometimes you have to buy something that you really need.

Not all we want is what we need. For example, you bought a new sleeveless shirt because you thought it will look good on you. But the weather is cold, you forgot to buy a new jacket. You wanted the sleeveless shirt, but jacket is what you really need. Just like this one. You bought a body wash, because apparently it's on sale. But, you realized that you still have a body wash at home and shampoo is what you need. See? You can't really determine the difference between what you need and what you want. The only solution to this is, you have to think wisely and try to concentrate.

Think of the things you need and go buy it first. Do not let yourself be attracted to the things you wanted to buy. You still have the chance to buy the things you want, when you finally bought the things you need first. We have to be wise when buying, so we will not regret it soon. Even if you believe that it's your money and all, you still have to be responsible on how you will spend it. You have to be responsible with your actions. You have to be a responsible individual.

Not all you want is what you need. And obviously, not all you need is what you want. But, always think of the things you need as your essentials. That they have to be bought first. You cannot sometimes decide whether you need the item or not, but always try so hard to think wisely. Try to put in mind that you are responsible of what you are buying. Try to put in mind that, again, what you want is not always what you need.

What about you? How can you explain in your own words this phrase "not all you want is what you need"? I really want to know what is on your mind about this matter. Take time to comment it down!

There is a big difference between "need" and "want". Need for me is necessities, the basic. While want is just luxury.

I totally agree with you. It is the exact difference between the two. Needs are the things that we should actually have because these are essentials, while wants are just the things that satisfies us as a human.

Thank you for sharing your idea about it, by the way! ❤️
