Baguio City: Lion's Head

The Lion's Head is a statue located on Kennon Road, a significant thoroughfare in the Philippines' Luzon province. The Lion's Head stands 40 feet (12 meters) tall at Camp 6 near the Baguio–Tuba border.

It was conceived by Baguio Lions Club members to serve as the club's sign or imprint in the area during the tenure of Luis Lardizabal as mayor of Baguio from 1969 to 1970 and as the club's president. The limestone was first prepared by a team of engineers and miners, followed by the "real artistic carving of the façade" by the late sculptor Anselmo B. Day-ag. The construction project began in 1968 but was halted due to unforeseen circumstances. Another Lions Club president, Robert Webber, continued the project in 1971, and it was unveiled in 1972.
