I bought a used notebook, then I told them I will flash the device with an open source operating system because you never know who had that notebook before and its easy to install a virus on it. Even Windows itself could be considered a virus as it has integrated backdoors. Then they told me I would loose guarantee as mentioned in their terms, so I told them that these terms are illegal and that its very common that companies put illegal terms but in front of a judge I would get my rights. Anyway in most cases, its a hardware fault, so they wouldnt even notice that I installed another operating system as they would not even be able to boot the device as the password prompt of my fully encrypted hard disk would hinder them.
