If it is not fulfilled, it is NOT a promise. Promise is a huge word. It can make people happy and excited. But if it is broken, it could hurt them and could break the trust they had. Promises made with the sole intention of making people happy can sometimes lead to disappointment, if not kept. Though a lot of times it is broken, let me remind you that "Promises are never meant to be broken." If it is broken, it is NOT a promise. As God's children, we can always be assured that His word is trustworthy. His promises are true. When Jesus was hanging on the cross, He uttered these words, "It is finished." (John 19:30) His sacrifice on the cross has not only paid the full penalty of all our sins, but also made the fulfilment of His promises. God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? (Numbers 23:19) Even when things don’t go as we plan, hope for, or pray for, we can rest in the assurance of knowing that God’s promises never fail us.
