You can rely on whom?

This is just a story derived from my imagination. It may be similar to yours or your friend but I am pretty sure this one is original.

Joy works as a cook in a small cafeteria. Everyday she brings with her Gian, her 4th son. Joy has 6 kids and her husband works in the farm or in construction, whichever has an opportunity to earn. One night, her eldest son Gino was riding a small bike and was about to check on her at the cafeteria as he always does after ensuring that all his siblings already have eaten their dinner, when an accident happened. He was hit by a truck! He was rushed to the hospital and since he was hit in the head, the doctor suggested that he will need to have a CT Scan.

Joy felt so nervous especially before the ct scan procedure because she was talking to Gino but he did not answer and looked at her blankly. Then after the procedure, she again talked to her son and asked how he feels and finally, he answered and asked Joy where they are. Oh, what a relief!

The ct scan result showed that Gino's brain has a small blood clot but they need not to worry because it can be curable by just taking medicines. The doctor said that they can already process his papers and that he will already be discharged. Sadly, Joy has no enough money and the truck driver could only afford to pay half of the total billing. Joy immediately went to the cafeteria and seek help from her boss. Unfortunately, her girl boss said that they have no money and so Joy felt bad because she knows how much sales they are having everyday.

But that is not the right moment to compute their daily sales. She needs to think where can she borrow money so she could already bring her son home. She went to another friend, also a business owner near the cafeteria she os working with. Even if she is not that close to that person, she manage ot gather strength and seek for financial assistance. Lucky enough, the neighbor's boss immediately gave her money and when the neighbor's sister heard about it and she even added a huge amount so she could buy additional medicine for the immediate cure and assistance.

Joy could not help but cry because of the generosity of this two. She did not expect that someone she did not know will be generous and compassionate to help and share.

In times of sickness and in trouble, do you have someone in mind whom you can be 100% sure that they will not turn their back on you? The one who is willing give help without even asking?

Lenten season is not just about fasting but more on how we impart to the people around us the good examples that Jesus taught us.
