Are you sure this is for gladiator battles? Maybe it's easy for city meetings. It's too small for fighting.

  I'm not sure about anything. But in one place I saw mention about it. Why not. We judge more by spectacular films. There is an Arena, there are places for viewers, there are stone walls where they could contain slaves-gladiators. Everything could be :)
