The cryptocurrency market is a volatile one, with the rise and fall of currencies happening in a matter of months. One such currency that has seen both highs and lows is Chia. Chia was launched on March 9, 2017, at the height of the market by Chia Network Inc. It was designed as a mineable cryptocurrency with an inflation rate that is steady over time. I have been mining Chia - which requires creating so-called plots first and then allocating harddisk space for these large files. I just created my 100th plot with Chia cryptocurrency mining - one plot takes about 10h to create on my machine - and still from their statistical prediction, I am 2 years away from earning my first Chia. Actual results may take 3-4 times longer than this estimate… not really encouraging! Cryptocurrency mining refers to the process of adding transactions which are then recorded in a public ledger called the blockchain. The way this works is by solving complex mathematical problems using computer power to validate transactions made between two parties without using a central server authority or bank to oversee it all. There are two ways you can mine for cryptocurrencies: solo mining or pool mining. Chia provides a mining pool. #CryptoMining
