There have been discussions going on about increasing the APR for HBD from 12 percent to 20%. This cannot be done by just one person but it is a decision by a majority of the top 20 witnesses. But people have started discussing the pros and cons we will have in this. So 20 people can decide for the whole? I do not call this decentralization... Never liked Steem or Hive with all that power in the hands of the few. Got tired of witness and curation trails.
My first reaction is that this feels like a desperation move following in the footsteps of Terra (anchor) and now Near protocol who offer the 20% which comes from funds that act as a way to promote the platform. I always like when APR comes from actual revenue instead of inflation where coins just get printed causing problems later down the line.
